In his book "Return to Life Through Contrology", Joseph Pilates said, “With body, mind, and spirit functioning perfectly as a coordinated whole, what else could reasonably be expected other than an active, alert, disciplined person?”  Joe thought that one would develop confidence, poise, awareness, and the power to accomplish his goals in life; including work, play, and relaxation.  I believe that, too.   That is why I opened Absolutely Pilates.

As an apple core is in the very center of the fruit, the core of the human body is our spine.  The core muscles are the ones that support the spine.  They are: the shoulder girdle muscles, all the abdominals, the pelvic floor muscles, the middle and low back muscles, gluteals, hamstrings, and quads.  Today you hear about training your core all the time, however, Joseph was preaching about and training the core over 80 years ago!  The Pilates Method has passed the test of time.
